The road leading to Crescent Community Radio is a rocky one. |
We first hit the airwaves on 8th December 1999 broadcasting as Radio Ramadhan Rochdale. Since our inception, CCR has continued to grow and progress into a full term permanent Community Radio Station. |
Prior to gaining our full-time Community Radio liscence, Crescent would regularly broadcast during Ramadhan and in Milad to celebrate the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). |
Broadcasting in English and other community languages, our aim is to encourage as much participation from all members of the local community, regardless of religious inclination. |
Our broadcasts range from religious programming to community packages. Crescent Radio tries its utmost to cater for the some 19,000 Muslims residing in Rochdale*, as well as the other interactive communities in and around the Metropolitan Borough. |
Tune into “the sound of Islam on the airwaves” and join us in “bringing communities together”. |
