STATION MANAGEMENT
Faheem Chishti – Station Manager
Managing over 45 volunteer presenters and 2 part time paid staff, Faheem Chishti has watched Crescent Community Radio grow with a steadily increasing loyal audience. 
 
Zia Zaman – Programming Manager
Making sure everything runs smoothly, Zia Zaman heads Crescent’s Programming and content, ensuring that we remain the foremost “sound of Islam on the airwaves” in our community.
Raees Khan – Finance and Marketing Manager
Taking the reins of Crescent Radio’s Finance and Marketing department, Raees Khan manages the stations day-to-day administrative responsibilities as well as promoting Crescent Radio in local media.
Rehman Hussain & Moin Chishti – Technical Managers
The men behind the wires, Rehman Hussain and Moin Chishti are Crescent Community Radio’s Technical Managers. Spearheading the technical department and taking the reins of the new and improved website, Rehman and Moin are vital members of the Crescent Radio team.
 
PRESENTERS
Faheem Chishti
As well as running the radio station with the help of an army of volunteers, Faheem Chishti is a teacher by profession and Station Manager of Crescent Community Radio. He jokes he has no time for himself: “Hobbies?  When do we have time for hobbies? I have been known to meddle with Family History, Juggling and designing pattern art in the little spare time that I have.”
Faheem presents The Sufi Show every Thursday, bringing you alternative thinking, alternative conversation and alternative spiritually with uplifting music. Tune in for the Sufi Saying of the week, as well as Qawwali Translations and haunting Zikr.

Zia Zaman
Wake up with Zia, every weekday morning. A property management mogul Zia Zaman brings you a refreshing selection of naats and nasheeds getting you ready for the day ahead. Keeping you on your toes and updated with the latest Traffic and Travel, Weather and Local news.
Zia also takes your requests for Arabic and English tracks before nine and Urdu and Punjabi between nine and ten.
In his spare time, Zia likes to do DIY around the house, however he admits that his talents only take him as far as changing a lightbulb!
The Breakfast Show - Mon - Thurs 8am-9pm and Fri 8am-10am
Rehman Hussain       
One of Crescent Radio’s many multi-talented team members, Rehman Hussain is a keen sportsman, indulging in cricket and football in his spare time.
As well as this, he manages to find time to present two of Crescent’s most popular shows.
Light Upon Light includes a mix of everything from riddles to Islamic teachings. Regular features include Al-Akhira, explanation of the Qur’an, as well as thoughts and reflections.
Thursday’s drive time showcases your requests and dedications, alongside dedicated weather and traffic updates.

Raees Khan
A freelance journalist by profession, Raees Khan takes an active interest in current affairs in the UK and around the world.
He anchors Crescent Community Radio’s weekly news and current affairs show Between The Lines, which gives a platform to the views and opinions of the community. Discussions vary from domestic politics to foreign affairs. Between The Lines showcases and analyses the stories that make up the front pages, by those who read the front pages.

Humera Haqqani
A Karachi born mother of 4 and a successful entrepreneur, Humera brings with her a wealth of experience. With a background in Pakistan, Holland and the UK, Humera is a trilingual homemaker with a special interest in Pakistani politics and Islamic history. 
Humera presents Naatoon Ka Gulshan every Tuesday; your favorite naats mixed with extraordinary profiles of Islam's renowned personalities.
Humera is currently training to be a driving instructor, but spends her spare time reading books and writing poetry. She also enjoys playing badminton, swimming and hosting dinner parties.

Heena Jabeen
One of Crescent’s most regular voices, Heena brings you Mix Masala and Naaton Ka Gulshan.
Heena is an avid film and television addict. She is currently studying her final year as a Beautician and in her spare time she looks after her family and enjoys reading and writing poetry.
Mix Masala, as its name suggests is a mixture of Naat Kwaans, requests, cultural discussions, recipies, household and beauty tips and stories.

Dr. Shukur MBE
Although not a young man anymore, Abdul Shukur is a class act.  A pillar of the community, he is perhaps the main stalwart of Crescent Community Radio.  An experienced broadcaster, he has experience of broadcasting on University Radio in Iran, Radio Pakistan, Commercial Asian Stations in the UK as well as local BBC radio.  When radio transmissions began in 1999 from the Crescent Centre, Abdul Shukur was present on day one.  His programme was also the first to be broadcast when live full time broadcasts began in September 2006.  Tune into his Saturday afternoon show for the latest debates of the day, news and insight about the world, and thought provoking and humorous tales!
Saturday Magazine - Sat – 12pm-3pm
Chacha Ji
Don’t you wish that you could sit with an old wise man from the Pakistani countryside?  Well if you tune in most Saturday evenings, you can listen to Crescent Radio’s own “Chacha Ji”. An old man who hails from a bygone era, but living in 21st Century Rochdale. Apparently he visits the Queen regularly and has a huge turban which he never takes off.  His humour is such that you will be in stitches in minutes.  And did you ever wonder who renamed the Rusholme of Rochdae?  Well it was Crescent Radio’s own Chacha Ji – Milkstone Rd is now locally known by everyone as Dudh-pathar Rd!
