Mufti Saab is the regular guest in Crescent Radio’s Question and Answer show every Sunday; where listeners can ask for religious guidance on various topics. Using his extensive knowledge on the Qur’an, A-Hadith and Sunnah of the Prophet, Mufti Saab is able to direct live callers regarding the Shariah and Islamic jurisprudence.

Gup Shup: Thurs 12-3pm
One of Crescent’s most unique shows, Noman’s Gup Shup unleashes his one-in-a-million personality on Rochdale. A local businessman by profession, Noman brings the everyday topics he sees effecting people throughout Rochdale, to the airwaves in his own inimitable style. Mixing in a bit of masala and hand picked tracks that have both social and cultural meaning.
Humera Haqqani
Crescent NewsRound: Fri 10am – Noon

A Karachi born mother of 4 and a successful entrepreneur, Humera brings with her a wealth of experience. With a background in Pakistan, Holland and the UK, Humera is a trilingual homemaker with a special interest in Pakistani politics and Islamic history.
She presents Crescent NewsRound every Friday morning, keeping you up-to-date with Pakistani political affairs. Humera is also a driving instructor and spends her spare time reading books and writing poetry. She also enjoys playing badminton, swimming and hosting dinner parties.
Naureen Kamran
Dhamak: Wed 1-3pm
Naureen presents a lively topic based discussion programme – Dhamak -every Wednesday afternoon from 1-3pm. She has an outgoing infectious personality that will bring joy and laughter to your afternoon. Poetry, requests, disussions and chat – all with Naureen in the midweek afternoon.
Abdur Rehman Hussain
One of Crescent Radio’s many multi-talented team members, Abdur Rehman Hussain is a keen sportsman, indulging in cricket and football in his spare time.
As well as this, he manages to find time to present some of Crescent’s most popular shows. Light Upon Light includes a mix of everything from riddles to Islamic teachings. Regular features include Al-Akhira, translation of the Qur’an, Tilawah as well as thoughts and reflections.
He also co-presents the Youth Show every Thursday night from 7pm alongside Rahat and Nafisa Saddique as well as Tuesday and Wednesday’s Drive Time, which showcases your requests and dedications, alongside dedicated weather and traffic updates.
Heena Jabeen

One of Crescent’s most regular voices, Heena starts off your week on a Monday morning with her Mix Masala.
Heena is an avid film and television addict. She is currently studying her final year as a Beautician and in her spare time she looks after her family and enjoys reading and writing poetry.
The Mix Masala – containing a mixture of Naats, Nasheeds, requests, cultural discussions, recipies, household and beauty tips, as well as help on ESoL and Life in the UK, there is really something for everyone.

Chacha Ji
Don’t you wish that you could sit with an old wise man from the Pakistani countryside? Well if you’re a loyal listener to Crescent Radio, you will be more than familiar with our very own Chacha Ji; an old man who hails from a bygone era, but finds himself living in 21st Century Rochdale.
Apparently he visits the Queen regularly and has a huge turban which he never takes off. His humour is such that you will be in stitches in minutes. And did you ever wonder who renamed the Rusholme of Rochdale? Well it was Crescent’s own Chacha Ji! Milkstone Road is now locally known by everyone as Dudh-pathar Road!

Afzal Naqshabandi

Afzal has come up through the ranks of Crescent Radio being a former Naat Competition winner in the early years. He now hosts the Naat Competition himself as well as hosting the weekly Madni Aaqa Naat Show, which showcases hidden talent from the streets of Rochdale.
Local Naat Khwaans are encouraged to call in and recite praises to the Almighty and his Last Prophet live on air.

Haji Farooq and Hafiz Rafaqat Ahmad

Hafiz Rafaqat Ahmad and Haji Farooq present Roshni; Crescent’s Mirpuri programme, every Sunday night, with live recitals in Potwhari by local artists. Hosted fantastically by this dynamic duo, Roshni is a wonderful show which reaches out to Rochdale’s strong Mirpuri community giving them the opportunity to enjoy a show in their mother tongue.

Raees Khan

A freelance journalist by profession, Raees Khan takes an active interest in current affairs in the UK and around the world. He presents Crescent Community Radio’s Weekday Breakfast Show and moonlights as a Drive Time presenter on odd occasions. Raees is also a screenwriter and creative writer in his spare time.

Zaiba Ahmed
Another popular presenter on Crescent Radio, Zeba presents to the community when it matters most; every Friday during Jummah prayers.
Jummah Jalwa brings you all of your favourite Naat requests as well as Islamic talk and the Friday Khutbah live and direct from the mosques of Rochdale. Jummah just wouldn’t be Jummah without Jummah Jalwa!

Muhammad Ramzan
Muhammad Ramzan is another long standing member of the Crescent Radio team. He has presented his show, The Sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) for many years and has garnered quite and enthusiastic following.
The programme mixes both English and Urdu translations of the original Arabic Ahadith, making it a show to be enjoyed by the whole family. Ramzan also includes a speech segment which includes some of the best lectures given by Shaykh-Ul-Islam Professor Dr Muhammad Tahir Ul Qadri.

Saba Nusrat
A renowned Urdu poet with many books under her belt, Saba Nusrat brings you a soothing and chilled out late night poetry show.
Sab Rang is your laid back journey through the annals of Urdu Shayari and Ghazals served up in Saba’s own dulcet tones, enough to soothe away the worries of a hard day at work.

Farzana Kauser
One of our regular Potwhari presenters, Farzana Kauser presents Tuesday’s Community Show alongside Heena Jabeen, as well as Thursday’s Community Health Show where she is joined in the studio by Sabira Siddique and Shahida Samreen.
Farzana anchors the shows and offers her own laid back style of chit-chat and listener interaction, taking your requests and dedication throughout the show.

Razia Shamim MBE
Razia Shamim has worked in the heart of the Rochdale community for over thirty years and she’s still going strong. With all the pep and energy of a teenager, Razia presents the Age Concern show every Wednesday afternoon opposite Baji Shafqat.
The ladies bring you a mixed bag full to the brim with natural home remedies, news and interviews on the latest local and national initiatives as well as Shafqat’s very own tried and tested recipes.

Nafisa and Rahat Siddique
Rahat and Nafisa bring you your Saturday morning Kids Korner show; a show tailored to those kids who are able to drag themselves from the confines of their warm beds at nine ‘o’ clock on a Saturday morning!

Sabira and Shahida bring you the Community Health Show every Thursday morning; mixing Naats and Nasheeds alongside healthy living advice and informative discussion. The ladies also include interactive segments where listeners can call in and ask for advice and guidance on various topics.

Zahida Warriach
One of Crescent’s oldest presenters (I mean she’s been here a long time, she’s actually quite young), Zahida brings you the fortnightly Health Drive Time in association with Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale NHS.
Zahida’s Drive brings you a mixture of Naats and Nasheeds alongside the latest health information from expert guests live in the studio.
Keep up to date on all of the latest health initiatives taking place in Rochdale by keeping tuned to Zahida’s Drive Time.

Muhammad Afzal
A local man with a keen interest in both current affairs and Pakistani culture, Afzal has managed to combine both of these loves into one at Crescent Radio.
Thursday nights sees him present the Urdu language Crescent Khabarnama from 6pm, bringing the people of Rochdale bang up to date with the latest goings on here in the UK, in South Asia and around the world.
Whereas Wednesday nights he brings you Phullan dey Rang, Afzal Punjabi dey sang! A fantastically eclectic show bringing you all the colours of the Punjab.

Baji Yasmeen
