The road leading to Crescent Community Radio is a rocky one.
We first hit the airwaves on 8th December 1999 broadcasting as Radio Ramadhan Rochdale. Since our inception, CCR has continued to grow and progress into a full term permanent Community Radio Station.
Prior to gaining our full-time Community Radio license, Crescent would regularly broadcast during Ramadhan and in Milad to celebrate the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Broadcasting in English and other community languages, our aim is to encourage as much participation from all members of the local community, regardless of religious inclination.
Our broadcasts range from religious programming to community packages. Crescent Radio tries its utmost to cater for the some 19,000 Muslims residing in Rochdale*, as well as the other interactive communities in and around the Metropolitan Borough.
Tune into “the sound of Islam on the airwaves” and join us in “bringing communities together”.
