Dhul Qadah

 

Dhul Qadah is the second last month of Islamic calendar. It is taken from the word “Qa’ada” which means to sit. This is the third holy month in which battling was illegal. The individuals additionally used to stop their personal and business activities amid this month and sit and get ready for the Hajj (Pilgrimage). This is additionally a sacred month.

Indeed, the number of months with Allāh is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allāh [from] the day 
He created the heavens and the earth…

Shaikh Sayyiduna Abdul Qadir Jilani (May Allah be pleased with him) said in his book:

“The number of months in the sight of Allah is 12 months. These months were already inscribed in the “Book of Almighty Allah”, that is, on the Well-Kept Tablet [al-lawh al-Mahfuz] – “on the day when He created the heavens and the earth; four of them are sacred…”

Dhul Qadah

The names of the sacred four months are Rajab, Dhul Qadah, Dhul Hijja and Muharram. One of these holy months remains in disconnection, to be specific Rajab while the other 3 happen in back to back arrangement.

Abu Bakrah (R), stated that the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) said:

“The year is twelve months of which four are sacred, the three consecutive months of Dhul Qadah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab which comes between Jumada and Sha’ban.”

Events Occur in Dhul Qadah month:

  • In the year 5 A.H, The battle of Khandaq and Ahzab took place.
  • In the year 6 A.H, Truce of Hudaubiyah and Bay’at-e-Rizwaan’
  • In the year 7 A.H, The Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) and his Companions came to Makkah to perform Umrah.

Some false convictions are joined to this month by oblivious individuals. They say that this month is not a favored month; accordingly, relational unions ought not to be held or solemnized in the month of Dhul Qadah. As indicated by them, a marriage held in this month may not be fruitful; rather it may convey trouble to the husbands.

This conviction is completely ridiculous. A Muslim ought to never go to such superstitious impulses. Truth be told, the month is one of the purified months, as said prior. It is narrated by Anas (R) that Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) performed three Umrah in this month. He performed one Umra from Al Hudaibiya in Dhul Qadah, another Umra in this year “Dhul Qadah” a third from Al-Jirana where he distributed the war booty of Hunain, in Dhul Qadah. In the last month “Dhul Hijja” of the Islamic calendar, he performed Hajj.

The Importance of 25th Dhul Qadah:

The night of 25th Dhul Qadah is called laylat dahw al-arz. The history of this night is that on this night, the earth was extended on the water where the Holy Kaba is situated. At this night, the blessings of Allah Almighty is poured on people. Many people pray at this night and Allah Almighty is given reward who practice acts of worship. It is narrated that someone who fasting on this day is equal to seventy-year fasting. It also erases the sins of seventy years. It is also narrated that worship at this night is equal to hundred of worship.

On this day, Recite Surah Al Fatiha one time and Surah Shams five times.

Amir al Muminin Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S.) said:

“The first mercy descended from heaven towards Earth on 25th day of Dhul Qadah. One who fast on this day and perform prayers in the night shall be rewarded for hundred years of worship. And if a group of people gather at a place in remembrance of Allah the Almighty, their prayers will be answered before they disperse. On this day thousands & thousands of mercy descends (on earth) and 99% of mercy is bestowed upon those people (who keep themselves busy) in remembrance of Allah, fast on this day, and performs prayers in its night.”

It is the great month, So we as a  Muslims should pray on this Dhul Qadah month as much as we can to obtain the blessings of God.
