Mayor Aasim Rashid visits Crescent Radio

The Mayor, Councillor Aasim Rashid, and Mayoress, Rifit Rashid, visited Crescent Community Radio on Saturday 29th May 2021.

They were interviewed by presenter, Ghulam Rasul Shahzad, who welcomed them and congratulated them on becoming the Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough of Rochdale.

The Mayor made it clear that the Mayor’s position is non-political. They explained the qualifications to become Mayor and Mayoress, their roles , other responsibilities they have, charities such as Springhill Hospice, Shop Mobility and Parkinson, which they will be supporting during their Mayoral years 2021 -2022.

Many of our listeners called, congratulated and said that they would support the charities.

The Mayor and Mayoress thanked the presenter, listeners and the Management of Crescent Community Radio for the opportunity.
