Olympics

The Olympic torch is coming to Rochdale and Crescent Radio will be part of it!

The Olympic Torch will arrive in the borough at around 1.45pm with the first Torchbearer carrying the flame from the junction of Edenfield Road and Elmsfield Avenue, Norden.

It’s on full view along Sandy Lane, Bury Road, College Road, Newgate and through the Town Centre along the Esplanade. It is then carried by Torchbearers along Manchester Road and Bolton Road to Springfield Park.

It will not be on view along Rochdale Road East until the junction with Crimble Lane. It’s then on full view along York Street and Market Street in Heywood. It is due to arrive in Heywood Town Centre at 3pm.

Special events will begin in Rochdale Town Centre from 10am so go on down and make the most of a once in a lifetime experience!
